What a good day For Mets Wilson Ramos. While you got a guy who can hit in the gap but a guy who can give you plus 20 home-runs in a season. 2 Years and 30 million dollars later the mets sealed the deal last night which is pending a physical to be giving his thoughts on signing with the club. This not only good for the Mets but Realmuto is not off the seat for the Wilpons and VanWagon Sweepstakes. This move is a better move and for good reasons. I can see the Mets not doing to much but being on the safe side when you have young studs like not trading syndergaard or even making moves like Micheal Conforto or Brandon Nimmo is better to stomach then trading them away. Mets are finally getting it right and you have VanWagon who can move this team further along the way. Wilson Ramos was hurt last year but if he can stay healthy you can see a very positive Wilson Ramos. In addition his stats speak for himself as a Mets killer when he was with the phillies now you can see him in a Mets Uniform and play for the mets is a good move for them.
The Jets and Texans will be just a few degrees away from a snow game … but it doesn't look like they're going to make it. Temperatures should be above 40 at kickoff but will drop through the mid-30s as the game goes on. There is also plenty of rain sprinkled into the forecast throughout the night.
WHAT IT MEANSThey showed a little pride earlier this week against the Bills, but in the process they blew a chance to gain control of their destiny in the race for the No. 1 overall pick in the draft. They're only one game behind the Cardinals, Raiders and 49ers in that race, though. So a loss to the Texans here and they're right back in it.
PLAYER TO WATCH: DE Leonard WilliamsWilliams and the rest of the Jets' defensive front will be stretched thin trying to catch and/or contain Texans QB DeShaun Watson. But there's an opportunity there because the Texans' offensive line is not good and Watson has been sacked a ridiculous 46 times this season, including 20 times in the last five games. Twice this season, he's been sacked seven times in a game. Williams, though, has just three sacks this season and five in his last 29 games.
He's only 24, but in his fourth season, it seems pretty clear that he's not at all the pass rusher the Jets once expected him to be. The Jets have already picked up his fifth-year option for 2019 at a hefty $14.2 million, but his future beyond that isn't secure. The Jets have to decide at some point if they want to sign him to a long-term contract or maybe try to trade him, or perhaps just let him walk after 2019. There's a long way to go, but if Williams can't come up with a sack in a game like this, where so many others seem to have no problem getting to Watson, it's another strike against him as the Jets ponder his place on this rebuilding team.
THE PICKIt's nice that the Jets were able to beat the Bills, and encouraging that rookie QB Sam Darnold was able to lead a game-winning drive against them. But these aren't the Bills. Even if Darnold is on his game, the Jets' defense is just not playing well enough to stop a Texans team that is running the ball as any team in the league, and has a dangerously elusive quarterback in Watson. Plus, what are the chances Darnold is going to be on his game when facing a pass rush from J.J. Watt (12 ½ sacks) and Jadeveon Clowney (seven), and a secondary that features Jonathan Joseph and Tyrann Mathieu? The Texans had won nine in a row before a narrow loss to the Colts last week. They're rolling toward the playoffs and the Jets aren't going to stop them. ... Texans 34, Jets 20.
The player responsible for Odell Beckham Jr.'s bruised quad is now facing repercussions. Eagles LB Kamu Grugier-Hill was fined $20,054 by the NFL for his leg-whip hit on Beckham in Week 12,. On the final play of the game, Beckham had the ball lateraled to him but was taken down by Grugier-Hill swinging his leg into Beckham's quad from the ground. There was no flag on the play. Beckham managed to play the following week against the Bears but was out last week against the Redskins and again this weekend vs. the Titans. The Giants are calling the injury a bruised quad while Beckham referred to it as a in a video posted on Facebook on Friday. Giants head coach Pat Shurmur said that Beckham did not experience any setbacks but was just a He would not commit to anything beyond Sunday regarding Beckham's status.
How is it that every time you think the rangers are going to win a game their fail to lose. Granted that Buchnevich and Jimmy Vesey had the First Goal in the First Period. Then Jordan Oesterie come in the second and Scores their first goal as well. As the Game Progresses Their on Goal Percentage is 50% of the rim and 25% on the ice Which shows the rangers are playing defense Hockey but not enough. In the Second Period After Kevin Heyes Put up Goal two in the end of the First. Mike Zibanejad leads with a power-play goal which gives credit to Kevin Heyes. Rangers give up later 2 Power-play goals Which in the second rangers do put up a 3 goal lead and then fail to execute as the Coyotes come back in the 3rd Quarter to tie it up and then in OT Win 4-3 beating the rangers.
Emmanuel Mudiay tallied a career high in points with 34 on the night, and he came up big for the Knicks down the stretch. He almost ended the game in regulation with a three-ball that just rimmed out. But in overtime, he had key buckets to keep the Knicks' lead as they held off a late Hornets comeback. He collected eight assists and three rebounds as well. Yet another strong game for Kevin Knox, who continues to impress. He had 20 points with three boards, three assists, one block and one steal to cap off a solid box score. He might have missed two free throws at the very end that would've helped move the lead to four, and not allow a Kemba Walker laup to tie it. Luckily, though, he missed. The big surprise of the game was definitely C Luke Kornet, who made the best of his 24 minutes on the floor. He drained 13 points, including three three-pointers that showed a lot of confidence in his shot. He had six rebounds, three blocks, and two steals as well. For the Hornets, Nicholas Batum was the leading scorer with 21 points. But Walker, who is normally the big points maker, had just five after an 11 point first quarter. That was clearly big down the stretch as the Knicks mounted their second-half comeback
Grandal has been viewed as a backup option for the Mets, but someone they wouldn't mind turning to if a Realmuto trade couldn't get done. In his fourth year with the Dodgers last season, he posted a .241/.349/.466 line with 24 homers and 68 RBI. As of yesterday, the Mets' current talks with the Marlins for Realmuto involved either Brandon Nimmo or Michael Conforto as the centerpiece of the deal, Amed Rosario's name, which had been mentioned before, was pulled out, and prospects like Andres Gimenez, Ronny Mauricio, and Mark Vientos were also named. Van Wagenen continues his aggressive path, and clarity on who will be the everyday man behind the plate next season could come to light very soon.
Why is this even still a topic the Mets are not stupid to even think about trading top guys for a player who will only be good for another couple of more years. Giving up Amed Rosario who last year was turning around towards the end of the season to finally becoming an asset to the club. How about Micheal Conforto who has Driven in 30 Homeruns and Even Seeing Brandon Nimmo what he can do around the base pads and The outfield in getting the Productive Hitting field a chance. The Marlins want so much for this guy it doesn't even make sense. Brody VanWagan is not going to do anything stupid that would put a hold in this lineup. He is doing the right thing to see ever option and seeing a miss if we have too. Harper is going to the phillies and Machado is going to The phillies as well. Mets are not going to sign neither one and why should they. The team was not bad last year and we can see what these young studs can do. However, we can still get some pitching in the back of the bullpen but either then that's all the mets need to fix the pitching. This would make no sense if the mets trade their top stud in Thor which is your number 2 guy starter and seeing what wheeler can become who is playing better and really looked good last year. This rotation is set and stop trying to fix that hasn't been broken. The Mets i find for once are doing the right thing this time in not getting rid of guys who are plans for your future. Brody knows what he is doing and not making stupid moves that are not in our best intrest in the future. Granted can Bryce Harper be the answer maybe but Not for Realmuto.
AJGSportsNY News- New York, NY The Mets need to Produce some move to see if the Mets are contenders to be productive in 2019. However, the Mets working to start the win Now game plan they need some pieces to work to be productive in early on spring training game. Three days ago the Mets introduced Robertson Cano and Also Closer Edwin Diaz two guys who can be the focus on 2019 spring training. Can an aging Cano still be a key player in the game? While seeing Diaz a weapon in the closing spot which can help pitchers Like Syndergaard and Degrom Close out some of these close call games to Winning games during the season. What can we expect out of VanWagon this season which can they be the focus ready to win now will the Mets finally get things done? The Mets need to put a product on the team that the fans are going to watch for a long time and getting a catcher and a Center Fielder is some needs that the Mets need to this off-season. The Mets should look forward during the Winter Meetings to get a catcher who should be J.T Relemoto which is likely to impress the job for Brody or should the Mets find somebody else to fill in the gap. Which the outfielder spot is also considered to be a Bryce Harper that would fill that spot but will the Mets get these guys before spring training my guess would be a Yes for me. (Twitter #AJGSportsNY)
As Brody VanWagaon Finally introduces these two studs to New york Well lets get to know what they both. These two guys are going to make an impact on the Mets Team. Edwin Diaz is a elite Closer for the Mariners in 2018 he was the Only one in baseball with 57 saves and can give you real productive innings pitched. In addition to his stuff you can see him throw lighting at the mound. his curve ball is the nasty and can strike out guys with his curve. Eventhough he was in the American League see him strike out lots of guys this year. He is really good his record has to prove he is the best closer in the game and the mets made a big move to see a new perspective to this rotation in the back bullpen. Therefore, The Cano move happens to be no surprise e can bring you everything he has to stealing to hitting and of course hitting them right out of the park. He is a good look for the mets. Yes he is 36 yrs old but he is in shape he is healthy and he is ready for the season to start and sure does look good and this team wants to win now. Expect these two men to have a great season with their new team The New York Mets. Welcome To the Mets Robinson Cano and Edwin Diaz.
Before the Indians traded catcher Yan Gomes to the Nationals, the Mets had been speaking to Cleveland about trading for Gomes, Report Heard that Andy Martino suggesting that with the Indians looking for young outfielders, it might make sense to expand a potential deal to include Brandon Nimmo for Kluber. Along with Kluber, the Indians have made Trevor Bauer and Carlos Carrasco available. Kluber, 32, is under team control for three more seasons. He will earn $17 million in 2019 and has team options in 2020 and 2021 for $17.5 million and $18 million respectively. Either year can be bought out for $1 million. He had a 2.89 ERA (3.12 FIP) and 0.99 WHIP with 222 strikeouts in 215 innings (33 starts) this past season, when he finished third in voting for the American League Cy Young award. A source recently told Martino that after the Mets' blockbuster trade with the Mariners for Edwin Diaz and Robinson Cano that there would be "more aggressive moves to come." One of those aggressive moves could be trading Noah Syndergaard to either restock the farm system or bring back major league-ready talent and replacing Syndergaard with a high-impact starting pitcher via trade or free agency. If the Mets don't use Nimmo or another major league player as a centerpiece for a potential deal for Kluber, they would need to attempt to build a deal around their top prospects who remain after trading Jarred Kelenic and Justin Dunn to Seattle. Those prospects include Andres Gimenez, David Peterson, Anthony Kay, and Ronny Mauricio. The above might be difficult, though, since Cleveland wants to contend in 2019 and may want any deal for one of their big pitchers to be built around major league talent.
