Derrick Jones more or less spent last season studying up as a redshirt freshman. Now, he's looking to show what he learned. The Jets' cornerback played just three games as a rookie in 2017 and didn't record a single stat. But he's been piling them up so far in training camp with a few key pass breakups and many to start in this season. Expect to see him plan ahead. The freshman Starting to become impressive early on. 
Frankly, it's been the perfect start for a guy who entered training camp fighting for a spot on the roster.
